Project Management for Instructional Design

A thorough explanation of the Project Development life cycle from the perspective of Instructional Development. We explored the various aspects that make up project initiation, planning, and closure.

Prior to this course I had some experience with project development both in Game Design and ID. As we progressed through this course it became quite apparent those experiences were not executed with the same level of detail or professionalism that we were being taught. On more than one occasion I reflected on how the processes and framework we were learning would have benefited past projects I'd been involved with. I am eager to carry that knowledge forward to implement with any teams I am a part of.

For this course, we simulated the full production cycle of an ID project from initiation to closure. We were tasked with helping Sykkle Parts, an international company that manufactures and sells bicycle parts and accessories, to improve the effectiveness of their call center employees sales and customer service skills.

Here I have highlighted some of the deliverables we produced that I feel best demonstrate my contributions to the team.

First of which is the high level Gap Analysis we produced to identify where the company was not meeting their desired goals and why, and allow us to make informed recommendations to bridge those gaps. For this section my focus was on the companies Marketing goals.

In the Project Charter document we detailed all aspects of the project and it's development timeline, including responsible parties and their responsibilities, intended deliverables, project scope, management structure, objectives, risks, completion criteria and the Change Management System. The last being my focus for this phase of the development.

Finally, I've included the Storyboard and Rubric for the CBT module we developed. In this section I developed the storyboards for Module 2 before handing them off to our graphic designer to handle the visuals.
